Nourishing Young Minds: The Reach of KickStart Breakfast
Categories Community Stories
KickStart Breakfast is proud to support the health and well-being of tamariki and rangatahi right across the motu. Since 2009, we have made a significant impact on the lives of young learners, ensuring they start their day with a nutritious breakfast.
Our Reach and Impact
- More than 70 million serves of Anchor milk & Sanitarium Weet-Bix since 2009
- Over 43,000 tamariki and rangatahi access kai every school day
- Over 200,000 serves of breakfast every school week
- Nearly 1,500 schools participating across Aotearoa
- Over 4,000 volunteers supporting breakfast clubs every day
Our programme reaches schools located from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island, extending to schools located on Chatham Island, Pitt Island, Matakana Island, and Great Barrier Island.
The success of the KickStart Breakfast programme is a testament to our schools and the wider school community coming together to make this possible. With over 4,000 volunteers who for many are the backbone and main support behind many KickStart Breakfast clubs across the country.
These incredible individuals ensure kai is ready and breakfast is served to tamariki and rangatahi every day. Their commitment and passion for helping others make a significant difference in the lives of the children we support.
We are grateful for the support of our partners, volunteers, and the schools that make this programme possible.
Together, we can continue to make a positive impact on the lives of students across the region.
